About the Artist: Nicole Jakin's practice is informed by living in the bush, with her sculptural mixed-media works often depicting native flora and fauna. Her current area of focus lies with the cycle of life within the broader environmental context of Australian nature, as she works towards themes including resilience, regrowth and rebirth. Nicole is one of our Artisans in the Gardens artists.
About the Cultivate Exhibition: Our online gallery features work for sale as part of a preview of our new spring exhibition Cultivate. This exhibition is all about strengthening our existing relationships with artists and will be a celebration of our exhibitions, showcasing the very best, with favourites from Botanica, Wild Thing, Harvest, Artisans in the Gardens, PLANTS and Treecyle exhibiting in October. This treasury of art allows you to explore the beautiful connection of art to our gardens. Proceeds are split between the artist and Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens and helps continue our support of science, conservation, education and horticulture.
